DiGi has recently done a price revision and reduction for its Galaxy S3, dropping the price from an original RM2199 to RM1999. This RM200 drop also applies to its device bundles as a 2 year RM48 contract now lists the device as RM1449 as opposed to the RM1649 previously. Its 2 year RM88 contract now lets you have the phone for RM1099, again, down RM200 from RM1299 previously. Better yet, its 2 year RM88 contract also provides RM20 discount per month for the whole 2 years as well as a RM5 discount per month for the first 6 months if you register for auto billing.
The Galaxy S3 comes with Android Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) 4.0.4 currently with an upgrade to Android Jelly Bean 4.1.1 that has begun in certain countries and will certainly hit Malaysia sooner rather than later. With the power of 4 CPUs and 1GB of RAM backing the impressive 4.8″ Super AMOLED display, this is still one of the best phones in the market currently.
If you’ve been holding off your purchase with DiGi, maybe the time is ripe for you to get your Galaxy S3 now! (Darn, if only I wasn’t currently tied to a contract…)
P.S. My guess is that Samsung Malaysia and/or DiGi dropped the price in anticipation of iPhone 5 reaching Malaysian shores soon and its hoping that a lower price would entice more customers to choose a Galaxy S3 right now.
