As October nears its end, one thing that many Android enthusiasts is waiting for is the launch of the new Android version and new Nexus devices that come with it.
After the highly popular (and cheap) Nexus 4 released by Google last year, anticipation is high for the new and upcoming Nexus 5. Various rumors have been circulating but one thing that has been confirmed quite a while back is that LG will be producing the Nexus 5.
Android Police has uncovered the official Google Nexus 5 image on the Google server. While it really isn’t anything that hasn’t been leaked in various photographs and videos before, it is still exciting to see an official photo from Google.
The main change in the outlook is that the back has been changed from the glass back of the Nexus 4 to what appears to be some sort of plastic back. The camera is also surrounded by a large (metallic?) ring. Lastly, the earpiece above the screen has been changed from the cutout of the Nexus 4 to a circular design.
I am quite interested in this phone. Especially considering the pricing is expected to be USD349 for the base 16GB model. A larger 32GB model is also expected to be available. Pricing is not known at the moment but it is likely to be USD399-USD429.
Some expected specs:
Android 4.4 KitKat
Qualcomm quadcore CPU (Snapdragon 800?)
5″ 1080×1920 screen (IPS LCD?)
16GB/32GB Internal storage
USB OTG support
Some of the specs may look familiar as they resemble the LG G2 which is thought to have been the phone that the Nexus 4 is based on. How does the spec and design look to you?
