The Sony Xperia Z was officially announced at CES 2013 with a 5″ Full HD screen, Quad 1.5GHz Krait cores, 2GB of RAM, 16GB inbuilt storage, water and dust resistant certification and a 13MP camera. This device comes with Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2 with an upgrade to Jelly Bean 4.2 planned. Official pricing for this phone in Malaysia is at RM2199 while its non-water and dust resistant sibling, the Xperia ZL is expected to be priced at RM1899.
DiGi is currently offering the Xperia Z at RM1789 with a 2 year RM58 contract with a RM10 discount throughout the duration. This plan comes with 2GB data (1GB for web, 1GB for smart apps), 200 DiGi-to-DiGi SMS and 200 DiGi-to-DiGi minutes.
You can also opt for the 2 year RM88 contract which has a RM20 discount throughout the period. This plan increases the data capacity to 4GB (2GB for web and 2GB for smart apps), 300 SMS to all networks and 300 minutes to all networks. With this plan, the Xperia Z becomes available for RM1549.
For those who are heavy users, you may want to opt for the RM148 contract plan. This plan comes with 3GB of data and RM80 worth of usage which is applicable for domestic SMS, domestic calls, IDD calls and MMS. With this plan, you can get the Xperia Z for only RM1029.
