UPDATE: SoyaCincau has reported that the Nexus 4’s price for Malaysian markets has been leaked. How much? RM1799. As it stands, it looks to be around 70% more than the retail price listed on Google’s Play Store in the US. Google, if you are reading this, we really hope that we can get this amazing device at US Play Store prices.
Ever since the Nexus 4 was revealed by Google, anticipation, demand and intrigue has been through the roof. This is not counting the intense debates online about its glass back, non-removable batteries and low storage space. In Malaysia, demand has been there too and LG Malaysia confirmed on its Facebook account that the Nexus 4 will be available by Christmas. With only a little over a week left till Christmas, LG Malaysia’s Facebook and website has been updated to show the Nexus 4 but still without any word on pricing. The website shows that it is coming soon and probably, LG is still in discussion with the local telco companies on what pricing and package to offer it at. Everyone is hoping that the pricing will not be overly pricey given the prices available at Google’s Online Playstore. But given pricing outside of the Playstore, I think it is highly likely that the Nexus 4 will be priced between RM1400-RM2000.
Many Malaysians, including myself, have been eagerly anticipating this phone’s release in Malaysia and at least now we have solid proof that it is indeed coming soon. Maybe just in time for Christmas.
