Samsung has finally released their ICS code for Galaxy S2 I9100G which is the version that many later buyers, especially in Malaysia, got hold of. Within a day of the release of the ICS update (India region got the release first), Codeworkx completed the first CM9 for I9100G. This brings an end to frustrated customers who watched on in envy as their I9100 siblings got an update much earlier.
While this release is still experimental, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of major known issues left in their todo list. With kernel sources from Samsung, I’m sure that Codeworkx will be able to clear the experimental stage and bring Galaxy S2 I9100G’s CM9 into a nightly release version.
If you own a Galaxy S2 I9100G and wish to get ICS on your phone, check out KIES for the Samsung Stock ICS or head on over to XDA to get CM9 for your phone.
Good luck and happy upgrading!
