The latest rumor mill has Liverpool demanding 50 million pounds which includes Anelka in exchange for Torres. The reasoning behind this demand is that Liverpool needs to replace Torres with a player who has Premiership experience. Is this a wise move from Liverpool? Will Anelka want to return to Anfield? Will Chelsea open their cheque book?
After Liverpool rejected two bids from Chelsea for Torres, he shocked us all by putting in a transfer request. Dalglish rightly rejected his request as well seeing as how he is one of the key players for Liverpool to have any hope of climbing back up the table and staying in the top 7 positions. Torres is said to be looking for Champions League football and I fully understand his desire as a player to play in the top most competitions he can.
As we are winding down the year of the Tiger and prepare to usher in the year of the Rabbit, Chinese folks are typically busy cleaning their houses and shopping for new clothes in preparation of the most important celebration of the whole year, the Chinese New Year or the Lunar New Year.
A good start to the new year is said to influence the luck for a Chinese for the rest of the year. Red is typically the festive color for this occasion as this color symbolizes prosperity for the Chinese folks.
With all the Chinese folks looking for some edge and more luck for this year, here is a table to help you determine when you should start work again to get the best year ahead.
Good luck to everyone in the coming new year.
Liverpool performed well this past weekend, winning both games and keeping a clean sheet in both matches. This will go a long way in helping Liverpool to maintain a place in Europe next season as they are now up to 7th position (though Newcastle and Stoke could leapfrog Liverpool with a win in their match in hand). This also means that the next match against Stoke is important as a loss there will see Stoke overtaking us.
Going slightly off topic from my more regular football related posts, I have a question that I invite my readers to respond to. If you are currently working or studying in Universities or Colleges around the world, do you believe that it is wise to find a job before even completing your studies or should you wait after your studies?
